An Innovative Model for Private Capital in Latin America and the Caribbean

Colabora connects global investment capital to the vast opportunity set in a growing and dynamic region

A region rich with potential

40% World’s copper reserves

~60% World’s lithium reserves

1/3rd Global renewable resources

40% World’s net food exports

Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) is a dynamic and resilient region with structural competitive advantages that are critical for the economy of the future.

Despite having only 8% of the global population, the region is a global leader in the supply of low-cost energy, agricultural exports, and critical minerals - all of which will drive growth and investment opportunities for decades to come.

LAC countries have decades of experience of private capital building and operating infrastructure across energy, transportation, water and digital infrastructure, with legal frameworks that have withstood multiple economic and political cycles.

There is now record demand for private capital to expand and strengthen infrastructure across the region that cannot be met by national governments and existing infrastructure companies.

The need for private capital

LAC needs private capital to unlock the full potential of its competitive advantages.

Yet private capital markets are significantly underdeveloped.  The region has very few funds of the scale needed to attract capital from the largest global investors. For infrastructure alone, studies estimate an annual investment gap of over $90 billion, costing the region around 1% in annual GDP growth.

There are compelling opportunities for well-funded, knowledgeable and experienced investors to invest in infrastructure and address this gap.

Governments and infrastructure operators understand this need and are keen to attract long term investors and strategic partners.

This is why we created Colabora Capital Partners.
